Rojas will explain the rationale that supports the Vatican’s latest document “Mater Populi Fidelis” (Mother of the Faithful People) approved by Pope Leo XIV which emphasizes that while Mary has a unique role in salvation, titles such as “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix” are inappropriate and potentially misleading.

This course discusses both sets of Ignatian rules for the discernment of spirits to help students notice, understand, and take proper action with respect to the interior motions they experience. The application of the rules to daily life is taken up in a discussion of the Ignatian examen, and their application to discerning God’s will in specific matters is taken up in a discussion of the Ignatian election.
