    This course will present a systematic overview of the fundamental theological underpinnings of Catholic Doctrine. Students will be led to survey the Catholic understanding of Divine Revelation, the central mysteries of the Nicene Creed, (Trinity, Christology, Pneumatology, Mariology, Ecclesiology); the Sacramentality of the Church, Christ Centered morality, and Christian Prayer. The goal of the Course is laying the foundation of a systematic approach to theological study and reflection.

    This course discusses both sets of Ignatian rules for the discernment of spirits to help students notice, understand, and take proper action with respect to the interior motions they experience. The application of the rules to daily life is taken up in a discussion of the Ignatian examen, and their application to discerning God’s will in specific matters is taken up in a discussion of the Ignatian election.
