About Our Community
The MARIAN SERVANTS® of the Redeemer began in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland, in 2017. Our Community is one of several Marian Servant Communities across the United States beginning in 1982 with “The Marian Servants of Divine Providence” in Clearwater, FL. The mission of the Marian Servants is to bring Catholic Christians to a deeper understanding of their vocation and mission in Christ, in the Church and in the world.
Our community fosters that mission with a unique focus on intercessory and healing prayer as well as spiritual direction, and is dynamically involved in local parishes within the Baltimore diocese. By embracing the Marian Servant Rule of Life, of holiness, obedience, and humble servanthood, the Marian Servants of the Redeemer pray and grow together with the shared mission of becoming like Mary, in openness to the Holy Spirit and bearing Jesus to the world.
Marian Servants are encouraged to attend the biweekly meetings held on the first and third Monday’s of each month starting at 7:00 pm in addition to monthly participation in the parish Holy Hours with praise and worship on first and third Fridays at 7:00 pm.

Our Ministries
Healing Prayer
Our community has trained prayer teams ready to intercede for those seeking healing of body, mind, and spirit. Prayer teams are available on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month at parish events or by appointment. The Marian Servants of the Redeemer also collaborate with Unbound Maryland to provide healing for those seeking freedom in Christ. Our prayer team members receive ongoing formation and are encouraged to follow trusted models such as Unbound and Mary Healy’s four-step program for Healing. Please see our events tab for specific parish activities hosting the Marian Servants of the Redeemer prayer teams.
Intercessory Prayer
The Marian Servants of the Redeemer engage in the spiritual works of mercy by interceding for others daily, with a special focus on praying for the priests of our diocese. Each week, a Marian Servant prays for a seminarian in the Archdiocese of Baltimore imploring the Holy Spirit to pour out graces and guide him in his discernment and preparation for service to the Church.
Spiritual Direction
A primary charism of the Marian Servants is helping others deepen their relationship with Christ through Spiritual Direction. Trained by the Cenacle of Our Lady of Divine Providence School of Spiritual Direction in Clearwater, FL., and certified by Franciscan University of Steubenville, our directors follow a prayer model inspired by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Ignatian prayer uses the imagination and the true desires of one’s heart to hear God’s voice in daily living. The director acts as a compassionate listener, while the Holy Spirit is the active spiritual director. A directee is encouraged to pray on scripture and spend time with the Lord daily.
Our spiritual directors also offer the following Ignatian prayer experiences:
Abide in Me
A group program created to deepen your relationship with the Lord using the eight themes of prayer developed by Fr. John Wickham S.J. This program is a grace-filled prelude to the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.
19th Annotation of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises
This version of the Exercises is extended over several months so as to allow individuals to experience the exercises amidst their daily lives with weekly prayer practices, readings, and meditations. The individual will meet once a week to share their prayer experiences with a spiritual director.
