Be still, and know that I am God.
– Psalm 46:10
An Ignatian Retreat is an intense structured experience based upon the teachings of St. Ignatius. For over 400 years, multitudes have been blessed through the meditations, prayers, and various exercises authored by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Each retreatant is guided by a Spiritual Director who suggests scriptures to pray and meditate upon relating to varied themes such as God’s love, mercy, and our calling to serve.
The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius are offered on the campus of the House of Prayer. These retreats are of varying lengths: a five-day, an eight-day retreat, or a 30-day retreat.
It’s most helpful for a retreatant to attend Mass and receive holy Communion daily while on retreat. It’s also helpful to spend time in silent conversation in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament and even to participate in Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament during the course of the retreat.
All guests will stay in one of our retreat houses situated on 15 peaceful acres. The House of Prayer is a place of quiet and peacefulness. The grounds surrounding this ministry are noted for their serenity and beauty. The House of Prayer is a place of healing and spiritual renewal for all those who come.
The beautiful and natural setting enhances the spirituality you sense throughout our grounds. It is our hope that all those on retreat hear God’s Words anew and renew and strengthen their faith.
